Suraj...

Mere Dil main Utar Gaya Suraj
Tairgi main Nikhar Gaya Suraj

Dars Dekar Hamen Ujaale Ka
Khud Andhere ke Ghar Gya Suraj

Hum Se Wada Tha Ek Sawere Ka
Haye, Kaisa Mukar Gaya Suraj ?

Doobte Wakt Zard tha Itna
Log Samjhe ke Mar Gaya Suraj
- Javed Akhtar

Tairgi - Darkness
Dars - Lesson / Sermon
Zard - Yellow

Awesome!

I like his decrription of his early years, the college life and his struggles more than his poetry!!

"Banjara" is my all time favorite..
Good work...

Shag, You have some cool sense of humor ..or is it the "Freedom of Speech" isssue" here?

It is only in the world of finance that your money, your asset, my money and my debts are counted. In the world of art, there is no your poetry, your language and and my book. It belongs to all. Pain is universal....

This is why Shakspere and his dilemmas are still alive and so are the affairs and heartbreaks of Ghalib and Meer.

I am sure you must have also seen some finance ministers from Madhu Dandavate to Chidmambarm start thier budget presentation by qouting Ghalib...but that is another story.

Appreciate your comment though...
